Koshi Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki has received the vote of confidence. Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista announced that there were 66 votes in favor of Karki's motion for a vote of confidence, 15 votes against, and zero votes for no vote. 83 MPs participated in the voting.

Karki, who became the Chief Minister with the support of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Center, took the vote of confidence for the second time after the Maoist Center withdrew its support. With the change in the power alliance, the Maoist Center, which left the government on July 11, withdrew its support on August 14.
