Journalist of Morang will get payment of corona insurance

The insurance company has provided a check equal to the amount of those who are yet to be paid to Nepal Journalist Federation Morang.

Secretary Netra P Adhikari filed a writ in the High Court of Biratnagar on August 21, 2078 on behalf of the Nepal Journalist Federation Morang after failing to pay the amount for the corona insurance of the members of the federation.

In the first wave of the Corona epidemic, more than 200 journalists and their family members were covered by a bilateral agreement between the Federation of Journalists Morang and Azod Insurance. Only 20 of those who were infected till the insurance period got insurance claim payment. 29 other people who were infected till the insurance period and received all the documents were yet to receive payment.

On 16th May 1979, the joint bench of Biratnagar High Court Chief Justice Satya Mohan Joshi Tharu and Justice Jagat Narayan Pradhan gave an injunction in the name of Azod Insurance Company to pay the amount of Corona insurance.

Before the contempt of court case was registered, the Biratnagar High Court had sent a letter to the insurance company for payment as per the order on May 25. After disobeying the court's order, Nepal Journalist Federation Morang filed a case against Azod Insurance Company on June 10, demanding punishment for contempt of court.
