Sunsari police seized one quintal of narcotic ganja from a car with Indian number plate by aerial firing.
On Tuesday afternoon, the police from Dharan said that they fired 1 round from a Chinese pistol in the air to control the marijuana loaded in a car with Indian number plate number WB74S2531.
Dharan 15 Shyam Chowk to Panbari on Seuti Bridge, when trying to elude the police, the car loaded with marijuana had to be taken into custody by aerial fire, informed Navin Krishna Bhandari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Sunsari. According to him, Bhandari informed that when he tried to stop the car, it moved at high speed and while following him, the driver left the car at about 35 meters and ran towards the forest. Bhandari said that during the inspection of the car, 100 kg of illegal drug marijuana was recovered in 5 plastic bags.
Bhandari said that since the car driver is absconding, search operation is going on and further investigation of the incident has started.
