Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba and Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly held a bilateral meeting in Ottawa on Wednesday. During the talks, various aspects of Nepal-Canada relations, mutual interests and interests as well as economic investment and partnership were discussed.

Also in that conversation, Foreign Minister Rana thanked the Government of Canada for the help they have brought to difficult situations like the latest earthquake and the covid epidemic in Nepal . On that occasion, Minister Rana recalled the financial aid and development partner that Canada has been providing to Nepal in various fields for a long time.

On that occasion, Minister Rana requested the Canadian government to establish a Canadian embassy in Nepal. She said, 'The number of Nepali students going to Canada for studies is increasing day by day, while the number of Canadian tourists coming to Nepal is also increasing recently. Likewise, visits are being exchanged between researchers, businessmen and other citizens of many areas of the two countries. So it would be appropriate for Canada to establish an embassy in Nepal, I would like to request this.'

On that occasion, she also urged Foreign Minister Jolly not to think that it is necessary for Canada to establish its embassy in a democratic country like Nepal, which is located between two big countries in Asia.

Foreign Minister Canadaly recently praised the progress made by Nepal in the field of inclusion as well as women's rights . Similarly, she said that the Canadian government is ready to provide necessary support to Nepal through the Canadian Pension Fund. He also gave a positive response to Foreign Minister Rana's proposal to establish a Canadian embassy in Nepal. Saying that the increasing presence of Nepalis in Canada is a matter of happiness, Minister Joly also said that he has received feedback that Nepalis are honest and diligent in their work because of their work here.
