The Manakamana cable car will resume regular operation from today. Nepal's first 'Cable Car' operated by Mankamana Darshan Pvt Ltd will now operate in 'Digital' technology. The cable car service was stopped from June 31 last year for upgrading and replacing the main wire.

Ujjwal Sherchan, Deputy General Manager of Mankamana Darshan Pvt Ltd informed that the work of converting the cable car, which has been operating through 'analog' technology for 26 years, to 'digital' technology has been completed. He said that the work of converting to digital technology was completed under the supervision of engineers and technicians of Doppelmeyer Company in Austria.

The cable car has been put into operation since November 8, 2055 for the convenience of pilgrims going to Mankamana Mandir, a famous religious place in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality of Gorkha. The 'Bottom Station' entrance of this cable car is in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-4 Cheres of Chitwan.
