The government has recommended to the President to end the current session of the Federal Parliament from midnight on Monday. Government Spokesman and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung informed that the Council of Ministers meeting on Sunday decided to recommend to President Ramchandra Paudel to end the sessions of both parliaments from 12 o'clock on Monday night.
There is a constitutional provision for the President to convene and close the Parliament meeting on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers. The current budget session began on May 28.

The ruling party has temporarily backed down from the decision to remove Deputy Speaker Indira Rana. Prime Minister Oli and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba were preparing to register the proposal to remove Deputy Speaker Rana in Parliament last Wednesday for not behaving in accordance with official dignity. Both the parties had also signed the MPs and applied the whip. According to the constitution, two-thirds of the existing members, i.e. 183 MPs in the 275-member parliament, are required to pass a motion to be registered against the deputy speaker. Prime Minister Oli has backed down since there was no consensus between the parties that participated in the government and those that supported it.
Deputy Speaker Rana wrote to the embassy to arrange an interview for visas to bring five unrelated and unknown people to America. Last Monday's meeting of the ruling party ruled that it was an act against official conduct for the Deputy Speaker to send an unrelated person to America on the letterpad of the Parliament Secretariat.
