President Ramchandra Paudel has said that Haritalika (Teez) festival plays an important role in maintaining brotherhood, virtue, mutual unity and social harmony in the society.

On the occasion of Teej today, President Paudel said that he hopes that Teej will provide new enthusiasm and energy to all to build an egalitarian society by ending all forms of discrimination, violence and social evil against women.

President Paudel has expressed his best wishes that the Teej festival will bring happiness and entertainment to all of us, empower women's equal access to every public sector of the country and help to make social, cultural and family unity and relationships more harmonious.

'On the happy occasion of Teej, the great festival of Nepalese Hindu women, I wish all Nepali women and sisters at home and abroad happiness, peace, prosperity and family harmony', it is mentioned in her greeting message.

President Paudel said that this festival, which is celebrated by Hindu religious women all over the world from Bhadra Shukla II to Panchami, has religious and cultural significance.

President Paudel said that all women belong to a higher position in terms of nature and creation, to keep the ideal social environment alive, to adopt a virtuous lifestyle and to preserve the dignity of such original festivals in order to pass them on to the next generation while building up the country's art culture. In addition, he said, it is also necessary to minimize the flamboyance and costliness that is sometimes seen in celebrating this festival, and to remove distortions and disharmony, and to raise its cultural importance.
