Mahendraman Gurung, Chief Information Commissioner of the National Information Commission, has emphasized that the right to information should be implemented honestly by every sector and agency.

Chief Information Commissioner Gurung said that since the right to information is a citizen's right, it should be taken as a campaign at the opening session of the trainer training organized by the National Federation for the Right to Information on Saturday in Godavari, Lalitpur under the Sustainable Information Promotion Project to provide sustainable access to information for civil society representatives. He opined that it is not justified to hide the information as it should be provided to those who ask for information as per the law.

In order to promote sustainable access to information in Madhesh and Lumbini provinces, Gurung said that the training of trainers was organized and it is necessary to practice and implement the right to information not only in the article of the constitution.

'Citizens should be able to receive information from public bodies as per the law. trainer Chiranjeevi Khanal said that it is necessary to raise awareness at the community level to exercise the right to information across Nepal. General Secretary of the Federation, Ajay Shah, expressed his belief that this program will be effective in motivating citizens to ask for information.
