Foreign Minister of Oman, Syed Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud Albusaidi, had a courtesy meeting with President Ramchandra Paudel.

Foreign Minister Albusaidi, who arrived here on Monday during a two-day official visit to Nepal, met President Paudel today at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas. During the meeting, President Paudel mentioned that Nepal has set a goal to upgrade from the list of least developed countries by 2026 and become a middle-income country by 2030, President's Press Adviser Kiran Pokharel informed.

Pointing out that there are many similarities in the foreign policies of Nepal and Oman, President Paudel said that there is a good possibility of increasing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, tourism and investment. President Paudel mentioned that establishing an embassy of Oman in Kathmandu would be suitable for both countries as the number of Nepalis working in Oman is increasing. Similarly, he expressed the view that direct air communication between the two countries will help in facilitating trade, promoting tourism and increasing relations at the people-to-people level. In the

meeting, Oman's Foreign Minister Albusaidi informed that various dimensions of bilateral relations were discussed with the Nepalese government during the visit and said that Oman wants to make relations with Nepal more harmonious with an open heart.

Foreign Minister Albusaidi mentioned that his government is positive about opening Oman's embassy in Nepal and establishing direct air links between the two countries, and highly appreciated the contribution made by calm, gentle and hard-working Nepalis to the development of Oman.
