President Ramchandra Paudel visited the Krishna temple at Patan in Lalitpur and offered prayers. On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival, President Paudel reached the Krishna Temple in Patan Palace and worshiped Lord Krishna and received flower prasad from the priest.

Earlier, President Paudel was welcomed at the Krishna Mandir complex by federal MPs elected from Lalitpur, Bagmati Provincial Assembly members, Lalitpur Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, Lalitpur Metropolitan Acting Chief Manjali Shakya Bajracharya and others.

After visiting the temple and receiving prasad, President Paudel observed Mangahiti. On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival, there is a tradition that every year the head of state visits the Krishna temple and worships.

This festival is celebrated every year on Bhadra Krishna Ashtami to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Devotees are thronging the Krishna temple at Patan in Lalitpur as well as Krishna temples all over the country today.
