Chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said that after the passage of the Transitional Justice (TRC) Bill by both the Houses of Parliament, the door has been opened for respect and compensation for the families of the martyrs and the missing.

In a meeting with the families of martyrs and missing persons in Pokhara on Monday, President Dahal said that the TRC bill has been finalized after a long period of hard work.

Chairman Dahal expressed his belief that with the passing of the Bill on the Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Disappeared Persons, the commission will investigate the missing warriors and that it will not take much time to find out the situation. He said, 'Not only for the martyrs, the way to find out the condition of the missing warriors has been opened. The commission will investigate, it won't take much time. The missing also get the honor and compensation of martyrs.'

The previous government led by the Maoist Center declared all the martyrs of the civil war as national martyrs and published them in the gazette. "All the others will be martyrs, the martyrs of the people's war will not be national martyrs, it caused tension for all of us. This time, the government not only declared everyone a national martyr, but it was published in the gazette itself. "All the martyrs have gone to the status of national martyrs," President Dahal said.

Annath Baral, president of the missing warrior family Kaski, said that they are still suffering because the condition of the missing could not be found for a long time. 'Until now, we have not been able to know anything about the condition of our family members. We have not been able to do the work according to the caste tradition. The family is living in pain", he said.
