The post-mortem of those who died in a bus accident on Friday in Ainapahiro in Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality of Tanahun will be held in Pokhara.

Out of 43 passengers on the bus, 27 people died in the accident. The bodies of 26 of them were collected at Ambukhaireni Hospital, while one person died during treatment in Chitwan. Since all the deceased are Indian citizens, the representative of the Indian Embassy in Nepal has reached Ambukhareni a while ago.

Now preparations are being made to send the dead bodies to Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences for post-mortem, said Shukra Chuman, chairman of Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality. According to him, after the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the relatives through the embassy.

The bus carrying tourists from Gorakhpur, India, entered Nepal from Belhia crossing on August 4. Indian tourists who reached Pokhara from Bhairahawa left Pokhara for Kathmandu on Friday morning. The UP 53 FT 7623 bus in which they were traveling fell on the banks of Marsyangdi river at 11.30 am on Friday morning.

16 people injured in the accident have been brought to Kathmandu by helicopter for treatment. They are being treated at Maharajganj University Teaching Hospital. According to the police, all the passengers in the bus are Indians.
