Rajkumar Nakarmi, Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality passed away

Mayor Nakarmi was suffering from kidney disease for a long time . Deputy Mayor Shakya said, 'He had been undergoing dialysis for a long time . The problem has worsened in the last 1 month.'

Deputy Mayor Shakya also said that the mortal body of Mayor Nakarmi will be kept in the Kirtipur Municipality premises from 9 am to 11 am.

Nakarmi was elected mayor from the Congress in the last local elections. For the first time, UML had a 'clean sweep' in Kirtipur Municipality, which is the stronghold of the Leftists. In Kirtipur, which became a municipality in 2054, for the first time, a Congress member was elected as the mayor.

Not only the mayor and deputy mayor of Kirtipur, but also 9 out of 10 ward president Congress candidates were victorious. Independent candidate Dinesh Chandra Dahal was elected in Ward No. 4.

According to Naresh Maharjan, chairman of Kirtipur municipality ward number 10, workers played an active role in the public movement of 2046. Similarly, Maharjan, the ward president elected from the Congress, said that he actively participated in the 2062/063 second public movement. He said, 'He had an active role in the movement of 046 and 062/063. Due to his political skillful leadership, the Congress won 9 wards including the mayor in the last local elections in Kirtipur.'

Born on June 20, 2020, Nakarmi is also the Deputy Chairman of Kathmandu District Congress Committee. Nakarmi has a wife, 1 daughter and 1 son.
