Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the future political discussion should focus on how Nepal will achieve prosperity. Former Prime Minister Bhattarai said this at the 'University Discussion' program organized by Independent Students' Union, Central Campus at Tribhuvan University on Friday.

He said that after the stage of state and democracy building, Nepal's politics should be focused on the happiness and prosperity of the people.

"After the phase of state and democratization, now is the time to achieve happiness, prosperity and happiness of the people," he said, "Therefore, we have entered the stage of achieving prosperity". Now our political discussion, study and thinking should be focused on it.'

According to him, the history of Nepal should be understood by dividing it into three stages. He says, 'The 18th and 19th centuries were the stage of state building, then the stage of fighting for democracy and rights to empower the people.'

The Independent Student Union has been conducting a university discussion program every Friday. On the same occasion, Bhattarai, speaking on the topic of 'the path to be taken by Nepal', mentioned that in order to change and understand the world, we need to understand its dynamics.

"Since I understood the words of Karl Marx, we should constantly try to change one thing," he said. Doing active socio-political work for that.'

He told the university students that he was reading, writing and fighting for political change to understand himself.

I believe that the university should create a place for questioning and a critical consciousness. It is an important way to raise questions and find answers and gain knowledge," he said. "It is right to do politics for social and economic transformation. Whether to sit in a chair or in power for the benefit of one's self and relatives depends on the individual's thinking . I want to say that you should do politics for social transformation, not politics of power for the sake of power.'
