The meeting of the working group formed to reach consensus on the Transitional Justice (TRC) Bill is continuing at Singha Durbar. The meeting started this morning in the office of Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar at Singhdarbar.

In the meeting, members of the working group on behalf of Nepali Congress are Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bertaula on behalf of CPN-UML and Deputy Secretary General Janardan Sharma on behalf of CPN (Maoist Centre). It is said that in the

meeting, the pending points regarding the TRC Bill will be discussed and finalized. The Bill on Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission of Inquiry on Disappeared Persons is pending in the Parliament. Discussions have started between the parties on how to mention the issue of child soldiers in the law and what to do in the case of reconciliation if there is no free consent of the victims, but it has not yet reached a conclusion. Also, no conclusion has been reached about the free consent of the victim.
