After the Kathmandu Metropolitan City started expanding the footpath on New Road, the locals protested. After the order of the High Court Patan, the metropolis started cutting the road from Judh Shalik of New Road towards Indra Chowk.
Similarly, after the metropolis prepared to extend the footpath from Judh Shalik to Dharmapath to the south, the locals protested.
Chairman of Ward No. 18 Nhuchekaji Maharjan and Chairman of Ward No. 22 Chinikaji Maharjan have also come to the streets in opposition to the expansion of the footpath.
