The bodies of 13 passengers who went missing after being swept away by a landslide in Chitwan's Bharatpur-29 Simaltal on Friday morning have been found. Nine bodies were found in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurva), three in Chitwan and one in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapaschim).

Police Deputy Superintendent Bed Bahadur Paudel, Information Officer of District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapur) informed that four dead bodies were found in the district only on Monday.

Nine dead bodies have been found so far in Nawalpur alone. Paudel informed that the identity of five of them has been revealed and it has been confirmed that they are the passengers of the missing bus. Four dead bodies were found here on Monday, but they have not been identified. Deputy Superintendent of Police Paudel says that the body may be that of the passenger who disappeared due to the landslide.

Majhi's body was identified by his father Rabindra Kusar Majhi and Pariyar's body was identified by his brother Vijay family. It is said that Majhi was a passenger on Bagmati Pradesh 03-001B-2495 of Ganpati Deluxe going from Kathmandu to Rautahat and Angel Deluxe Bagmati Pradesh 03-006B-1516 of Angel Deluxe going to Kadmadau.

The other dead body found in Ghandakot-7 Gari on Saturday was given by Paudel as 30-year-old Sajad Ansari from Betiya in the state of Bihar, India. Ansari is a passenger on Angel Deluxe Bagmati Pradesh bus number 03-006 B 1516 going from Birganj to Kathmandu. Similarly, both the dead bodies found in the Gandak canal of the barrage located in Vinayi Triveni rural municipality-7 of the district on Sunday evening were identified on Monday morning. One of those found in the Gandak Canal was identified by his father Som Bahadur Vick as 23-year-old Sudeep Vick from Bharatpur-22, Chitwan.

Sudeep is a passenger of Angel Deluxe going to Birgunj. Similarly, the other body has been identified by his father Islam Mian as that of 17-year-old Rahum Mia of Jamunamai Rural Municipality-4 in Rautahat. Mia Ganapati was going to Gaur from Kathmandu in Deluxe.

Rishipal Sah, 28, from Sitamari Virginia, India, Jaiprakash Thakur, 30, from Sitamari Betia, India, are among those who went missing in the landslide. It is said that the body found in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapaschim) on Sunday is that of 43-year-old Parmanand Pandit of Savik Vishrampur gavis-4 of Bara and another 35-year-old man has not been identified.

So far, out of 13 bodies found in three districts, five bodies have not been identified. Deputy Superintendent of Police Paudel says that all the identified bodies have been sent to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan and the remaining bodies will be sent to Bharatpur after their identification.

According to Chitwan administration, there are at least 24 passengers in the Angel Deluxe bus going to Kathmandu from Birgunj, which was lost due to the Simaltal landslide, and at least 27 passengers in the Ganpati Deluxe bus going from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat. Three of the passengers on board the bus managed to survive by swimming in the Trishuli river.
