Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the relevant agencies to rescue the passengers of the bus swept away by the landslide in Simaltal. Prime Minister Dahal has instructed all government agencies including the Home Administration to search for and effectively rescue the missing passengers swept away by the landslide.
In addition, since the weather is active, they have appealed to the federal, provincial and local governments for the necessary cooperation and coordination in disaster management and risk reduction with high vigilance.
The Chitwan District Police Office informed that two passenger buses were swept away by a landslide at Simaltal on the Narayangadh-Mugling road on Friday morning around 3:30 am.
Although it was reported that two buses were swept away in a landslide in Simaltal, only a part of one bus was seen, said DSP Beshraj Rizal, spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office. DSP Rizal informed that 3 passengers who jumped from the bus, which was Ganapati Deluxe, was going to Gaur from Kathmandu.
According to Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, out of the two buses that drifted in Simaltal, there were 24 passengers in the Angel bus going from Birgunj to Kathmandu and 41 passengers in the Ganapati Deluxe coming from Kathmandu to Gaur.
