11 dead including 7 from same house after landslide in Kaski [Update]

In Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 Tallakot, 7 members of the same family were buried inside their house after a landslide. Pokhara-32 Three people have died after being buried in a landslide in Chainpur.

Pokhara-19 When a landslide came from above the house in Purunchaur Tallakot, a one-storied block house with a mud and tin roof was destroyed at around 10:30 on Thursday night. Prabha, son-in-law 25-year-old Asmit Pariyar and relative Radhika Pariyar of Tallakot were killed, Kaski Police Spokesperson and DSP Vasant Kumar Sharma informed. According to him, among the dead, Prabha came from Chitwan with her husband Asmit. Neighbor Radhika Pariyar died while trying to rescue those buried in the landslide.

In Pokhara-32, Aarti Ojha's house in Chainpur was destroyed by a landslide and her daughter Anita Ojha, 18 years old, Anushka Ojha, 11 years old, and Prateek Subedi, 9 years old, died.

Similarly, 80-year-old Maitikumari Gurung died after being buried in a landslide in Madi Rural Municipality Ward No. 11 Lower Saple. His 55-year-old son Om Bahadur Gurung was rescued safely, police said. The bodies of all those who died have been kept at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences for post-mortem.
