Thursday's meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed. Although there is a legal provision that the presence of the minister is mandatory when the meeting is in session, the meeting of the House of Representatives was adjourned without being entered into the agenda.
The meeting which was called for 4 pm started only at 5:30 pm. At the very beginning of the meeting, Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada informed the speaker that the presence of a minister should be mandatory even if there is only one minister during the meeting.
'We know that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he will show his confidence in the parliament by taking the vote of confidence using the constitution . It is also known that time has been requested for tomorrow,' Khatiwada said to the speaker, 'Shouldn't the prime minister and minister who follow the constitution know that the minister and the prime minister must be present on the day of parliament?'
Then Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting saying that according to Rule 6 (5) of the House of Representatives Rules 2079, the presence of the Minister in the meeting is mandatory and currently the Minister is not present in the House of Representatives meeting.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives has been called for Friday morning at 11 am. In that meeting, Prime Minister Dahal will propose a vote of confidence.
