Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia has said that in order to increase women's leadership at the parliament and local levels, women's leadership should be established in the executive positions of the party.

In the first session of 'Nirbhik Nari' organized by Kantipur Publications Limited on Thursday, Chief Commissioner Thapalia said that the parties have neglected women at the leadership level.

There are 118 political parties registered in the Election Commission. Apart from two parties, 116 parties have given up and reached 33 percent women in the central committee, the structure created by pulling everyone together does not give leadership, said Chief Election Commissioner Thapalia.

He said that after 16 years of age, all women should get citizenship, women who have citizenship should be registered in the voter list. 'And whether they were given election and voter education or not, and what we are trying to do at the same time!' Thapalia said, 'If we try to do this from Fedai, it is not a matter of interpretation on the basis of competence, it is a matter of testing competence.' Similarly, leadership story- Chief Commissioner Thapalia says that there should be no struggle over the issue of women reaching the break, but emphasis should be placed on qualitative improvement. "Now we should talk about reform, not struggle, the next generation would have deleted the word struggle, now is the time for qualitative reform," he said. He argues that it is not possible to measure the ability of women without giving them opportunities. He says, "You should give an opportunity and not check, if you don't give an opportunity, (in the election) and why you are not able to bring it, who will measure the ability? Where will it be measured? We should start from the place where it is measured."
