Lakshmi Ghimire, a member of the Wagmati State Assembly, has said that there is no environment for women to contest elections freely. Recently, elections are becoming more expensive and the challenge for women to compete with men has increased.

In the first session of the 'Nirbhik Nari' program organized by Kantipur Publications Limited on Thursday, MP Ghimire said, "Economically, women have been challenged to compete with men, for this reason it is necessary to compete between women and women".

MP Ghimire said that economic empowerment and higher education should be emphasized to bring women into leadership. "The main aspect of bringing women to the leadership level is finance and education so that more women can come to leadership," she said.
