The former captain of the national women's cricket team, Rubina Chhetri Belbase, has said that even if an area is challenging, one should be able to bring about change on one's own. Ruveena spoke about the challenges of leading the cricket field during the discussion titled 'Nirbhik Nari program' titled 'Nirtvama Nari Paramalai Bhari' organized by Kantipur Publications Limited on Wednesday.
'While leading this area for 12 years, there was a time when the Cricket Association was closed, at that time it was very difficult for us to survive. At that time, some of them even fled thinking that there is no future in this area . There is no other option but to think that you will bring some change,' said Rubina, 'Both men and women have challenges. But the key is how you present yourself and how far you have the thinking and ability to go forward. First, don't think that I am a woman. I had to think that I am a person and with my hard work and perseverance I can create a good platform .'
Rubina narrates the experience that a person can bring about change. "My recent example, recently I saw the strategy of women's cricket changed after I scored a century. If a person thinks that I will bring change, it seems that the platform will improve along with the change,' she said .
Rubina says that she feels more invested in her home than in the nation. 'Not my father . My mother has brought me to this point by suffering from my childhood. At that time there was a lot of male dominance, I used to play with all the boys . Since my mother had a lot to do with me coming here, I say that the country has invested more in me than the nation," she said, "After getting to know the nation through sports, the nation invested accordingly. However, the investment not only in cricket but also in sports has not reached . As the family will support you until you are established, there is investment from home at the beginning and then only the nation will invest.'
Rubina also said that she learned leadership skills from her mother. Rubina also says that she came to leadership with the intention of changing the strategy of women's cricket while she was abroad. 'My mother was alone and raised Dada and me. My mother was also beautiful. Even though she saw how many men tried to trouble her, my mother decided to educate her children. That's why I found that role model in my mother,'' he said. Now I think I can do it alone.'
