Kathmandu Metropolitan City has honored Palesha Govardhan who won bronze medal in Paris Para Olympics. The metropolis honored Nepali para taekwondo player Govardhan and coach Raj Negi with cash during a ceremony on Wednesday.
Mahanagara honored medalist Govardhan with Rs 5 lakh and coach Negi with Rs 3 lakh.
Govardhan won bronze in the women's 57 kg weight group under the K-44 category at the Para Olympics held at the Grand Palace in Paris. This is the first official medal won by a Nepalese athlete in any Olympics.
medalist Govardhan was also welcomed in the capital in a grand manner.
