The Struggle Committee of the Victims of Illegal Road and River Standards has submitted a letter of attention to the Lalitpur Metropolitan City saying that the Supreme Court's injunction will cause the Raithanes to be uprooted. On Tuesday, the Sangharsh Committee handed over a letter to Lalitpur Metropolitan Deputy Chief Anjali Shakya.

The Council of Ministers had decided on November 1, 2065 that structures could not be built within 20 meters of Wagmati, Bishnumati and Manohara shores, and the Supreme Court had issued an order to leave an additional 20 meters on December 3.

Since Tuesday afternoon, the Sangharsh Committee had protested against the same decision by chanting various slogans against the Supreme Court's order to make Raithane residents of the valley to revolt. The procession of the committee that left Thapathali Hanumanthan reached Lalitpur Metropolitan City via Kupondol, Pulchok, Harihar Bhavan.

Understanding the attention letter, Deputy Chief Shakya has said that the metropolis will not issue any information to make the people riot.

Similarly, the coordinator of Sangharsh Samiti, Suman Sayami, said that the Supreme Court's decision was not fair. The committee has been protesting continuously since August 15. He said that the movement of the committee will continue until the people of the valley get justice.

In 2064, the Kathmandu Valley City Development Committee prepared standards regarding construction along the river banks within the valley. On that basis, on November 1, 2065, the Council of Ministers decided that the construction work should be done by maintaining a right-left distance from the side where the survey map of the river is maintained.

In the decision of the Council of Ministers, 20 meters on the banks of Wagmati, Bishnumati and Manohara rivers, 12 meters on Nakhkhu river, 10 meters on Balkhu Karmanasa, Koiku, Sangle and Mahadev rivers, the planned distance at Dhobikhola project site and 9 meters on others, 6 meters on Karkhusi river. It was mentioned that it will be built.

'4 meters in Tukucha, Samakhusi and other rivers flowing in the valley and no river, Kholsi and Rajkulo can be dug,' the decision made by the Council of Ministers on November 1, 2065 says, 'Even in the urban villages of the area where the Hanumante river flows, 20 meters away from the river bank. It will be possible to build.''

The Supreme Court has ordered to designate an additional 20 meters distance along all those river banks in the valley seven and a half months ago. If the boundary of the river or river is not defined, there is a mandate of the Supreme Court to determine the right-left boundary of 20 meters.
