Chitlang in Thaha Municipality of Makwanpur is not only attractive for tourists but also fertile for mushroom cultivation. Gobre mushroom has been produced for 7 years with an investment of around 150 crores in Tupi game of Chitlang.

074 to 39 farmers have been collectively producing mushrooms by establishing Indreni Mushroom Farm in Thaha Municipality-9 Tupi Khela. Mushrooms worth Rs 41.5 million were sold in this farm last year. Initially, the farmer started mushroom cultivation with an investment of 80 lakhs. Kathmandu is the main market for the mushrooms produced by the farm, which is run by a joint venture of Kathmandu and local residents.

"We have been selling the mushrooms produced here to wholesale traders in the capital," said Raju Shrestha, manager of the farm. We have not been able to produce according to the demand of Gabre mushroom.'' Chitlang, which is close to the capital and has a cold climate, has a suitable climate for Gabre mushroom. Therefore, the mushroom production is going well according to agricultural technician Sujit Khadki. This mushroom needs an environment of 14 to 27 centigrade.

6 towers with two tunnels are equipped with air conditioning to improve the environment for mushroom production. Each 'bulb' of 10 kg is packed with coconut husk dust, soil and organic manure. After 20 days of packing in the bulb, after the compost is ready, the mushroom seeds are planted in it.

Mushrooms are ready for sale 35 days after planting. About three kilos of mushrooms are produced from one bulb. Bulbs are made by adding coconut husk dust, soil and chicken manure after pouring the mushroom-extracted bulb manure and soil. Manure and soil are sold as fertilizers for agricultural production.
