Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that internal resource mobilization will be made more effective to achieve the goal of development and prosperity of Nepal.

Finance Minister Poudel said in the program held after the inspection of the Internal Revenue Department that the tax system will be further modernized in order to mobilize internal resources more effectively, reduce the tax participation cost of taxpayers, and give priority to technology-friendly manpower development.

He instructed the employees to work to expand the tax scope, create a taxpayer-friendly environment, increase the quality of taxpayer services, increase voluntary tax participation, and stop tax evasion and leakage. Emphasizing on tax audits and electronic governance, he said that more initiatives will be taken in institutional reform for result-based business organization and work specialization.

Saying that the arrears and delinquencies of big tax offices have increased, he directed to conduct a special campaign for arrears collection and delinquency. In the program, Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire instructed the employees to understand their responsibilities and obligations. Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire instructed to move forward by paying attention to the target of revenue mobilization.

Internal Revenue Department Director General Ram Prasad Acharya expressed his commitment to fulfill the target of revenue collection in the current financial year.
