Government employees are not allowed to trade shares during office hours. For this, the Prime Minister's office has given instructions to all ministries, commissions, secretariats, etc.
The government banned the service on the recommendation of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission, saying that the service was affected when the employees were busy with share trading during office hours.
In the letter written by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, it is mentioned that there should be a system of not running TMS during office hours in all the government and public bodies of the government and a system should be arranged to check whether TMS is running or not at that time using information technology.
A complaint was brought to the authority that the employees were busy with the online system (Trade Management System-TMS) for buying and selling shares during office hours.
Based on the complaint, the authority's team wrote a letter to the government to stop the share trading during the office hours after finding the facts during the on-site inspection of the government office under the Singhdarbar complex. Based on the same letter, the government decided not to run TMS during office hours and instructed all the subordinate agencies to implement it.
