He said that although the reservoir has to be cleaned twice a year, this time the reservoir is going to be cleaned a little earlier. He said that due to many floods and landslides this year, Gegran has accumulated in the reservoir, so it is going to be cleaned ahead of time.

As the flow of the Tamakoshi river will decrease during the cleaning of the reservoir, it has also issued a public notice asking the residents of the river coastal area to be cautious. As the water level of the river suddenly rises when the water is released from the reservoir during the emptying of the reservoir, the residents of Tamakoshi and Sunakoshi coastal areas have been asked not to go fishing, swimming, bathing, washing clothes, burning dead bodies, and removing lava from the river.

On June 21, production was stopped for 18 hours when Tamakoshi opened the gates of the dam and emptied the reservoir due to flooding. Ranjith, manager of Tamakoshi Hydropower Center, said that there will be no financial loss when electricity production is stopped, as per the target of electricity generation, cleaning the reservoir.

"We have produced more electricity than the production target," he said, "There is no loss if there is no electricity from Tamakoshi on the national transmission line for 18 hours." .
