Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the center of Nepal's economy is the remittance received from foreign employment.

In the 'Congratulations, Wishes and Thanks' program organized by the Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Association, a well-wisher of the Nepali Congress, he said that the main source of Nepal's economy is 'remittances' received from foreign employment.

'Nepal's economy runs on the money sent by laborers who have gone to foreign jobs, the main means of the country's economy has become the labor of Nepalis who have gone to foreign jobs', he said. General Minister Thapa mentioned that even though nearly five lakh Nepalis need employment every year, the country is unable to provide them with employment, so they are forced to go abroad.

He said that foreign employment is a reality for Nepal in the next decade. Thapa, who is also a former minister, claimed that after the change of 2046, many industries were operated from the private sector under the leadership of the then Girija Prasad Koirala government, but they were closed due to ten years of people's war and political instability in the country.

General Minister Thapa said that the Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Association will play a major role in expanding the organization of the Nepali Congress. General Minister Thapa expected that the association would provide important opinions and suggestions while the party was making policies in the field of foreign employment. He expressed his belief that the party will be needed to solve the problems related to foreign employment business.

He also urged the businessmen to operate the foreign employment business in a dignified, orderly, transparent, dignified and respectful manner. Bhuwansingh Gurung, president of Tamu Sangh Nepal, said that the government should make a policy to protect the foreign employment business. He asked the association to move forward by including all businessmen.
