A Solar Airlines plane crashed at Kathmandu International Airport on Wednesday while flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara for detailed inspection and maintenance (C-Check). The accidents that happen every year have drawn the world's attention to Nepal's air safety.


18 people died on the spot when a Canadian 'Bombardier Jet CRJ-200' plane with a capacity of 50 seats of Saury Air crashed again on Wednesday (non-commercial flight). Captain Manishratna Shakya has been rescued alive.

Sourya's IT head Manuraj Sharma, wife Preeja Khatiwada and son Adhiraj are also among the dead. Umesh Acharya, Deputy General Manager of Solar, says that there are full-time employees in Prija Energy Ministry and contract employees in Solar Airlines.
