The police have detained eight people with fake currency making materials from Madhuvani in Sarlahi, which is located in the Nepal-India border area. Out of which two are Indians and six are Nepalese.

Among those arrested are 49-year-old Rajeev Thakur alias Pappu of Sitamarhi police station Bairgania Gram Panchayat Pan Tanki, 40-year-old Suvodh Kumar of Majorganj Gram Panchayat-8 in India. Sougat Thapa Magar, 26, of Kathmandu Chandragiri Municipality-15, Vijay Lama, 47, of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-6, Janardhan Singh, 32, of Sarlahi Godaita Municipality-12, Madhuvani, and Vishal Rai, 37, of Narai Tol, Rautahat Chandrapur Municipality, were also involved in the fake currency transaction. The police have taken it into custody.

Similarly, 33-year-old Sanjay Rana Magar of Lalitpur Municipality-1 Kupandol, and 37-year-old Amir Khatri of Bhaktapur Changunarayan Municipality-5 were detained, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office. According to him, the gang dealing in fake notes has been arrested.

Madhuvani Village near Dasha, the police managed to arrest them after receiving information that fake notes were being made inside a house built for boring for irrigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha informed that the police seized 14 bundles of paper cut into the shape of 1000 notes, 8 liters of different colored chemicals, 95 thousand 805 gross Nepali rupees, 10 mobile sets, 2 Indian number plates and 1 Scorpio with Nepali number from the scene. Dealers of fake notes have already been arrested in that area.
