Drowning in the pond A brother and sister of the same house in Chasmitar, Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-3 have drowned in the pond and died.
6-year-old Sangam Rai, son of Gaindra Rai and 3-year-old daughter Samriddhi Rai, who live in Chasmitar Wang, drowned in the pond on Monday.
According to Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office Khotang, Purushottam Khadka, mother Mamta Rai found her children drowning in an irrigation pond built near Bhutia River while searching for their children after they went missing around 2:00 in the afternoon.
The police under the leadership of DSP Khadka have been deployed to the scene. "We are on our way," DSP Khadka said, "After completing the legal process, their bodies will be brought to the district hospital for post-mortem."
Gaindra is on foreign employment.
