The Maoist center has left the Koshi state government. Maoists have maintained the support given to UML Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki. "We have only left the government", said Indra Bahadur Angbo, the leader of the Maoist parliamentary party, "we have not withdrawn the support given to the UML".

Maoists have 13 MPs in Koshi state assembly. After the Maoists left the Congress and suddenly formed an alliance with the UML, a government was formed under the leadership of the UML on May 27, according to Article 168 (5) of the Constitution.

After the UML formed a new equation with the Congress last month, the Maoists were forced to leave the provincial government. The Maoist ministers submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Karki on Friday. In the government, Maoist's Ganesh Upreti was the Minister of Physical Infrastructure, Narayan Bahadur Magar Forest, Environment and Tourism, Rajendra Karki was the Minister of Health and Bandana Jhangad was the Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Tourism.

Congress is entering the government after Maoist exit. But the Congress is yet to decide on whose leadership it will join the government. Congress Koshi's chief whip Gopal Tamang informed that discussions with UML have started on Friday to change the leadership of the government and finalize the allocation of ministries.

There are many ministerial aspirants in the Congress, on top of that, the establishment party, Shekhar Koirala and Krishna Prasad Sitaula's group will have to form a faction. An MP said that the Congress may join the government under the leadership of either MP Amrit Aryal or Bhim Parajuli.
