After the country went to a federal structure, five and a half hundred kilometers of roads in Koshi province have been blackened. In the progress review program conducted by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of the province, it has been informed that 550 km of roads have been blackened across the province.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Koshi Province has said that since the financial year 2075/76, roads have been constructed to reach the headquarters of 14 districts of the province.
The ministry has paved 126 kilometers of roads in the financial year 2080/81. In the previous fiscal year, the ministry had 'pitched' 206 kilometers of road. Ashok Kumar Sah, secretary of the ministry, informed that 98 km of roads were paved in 2078/79, 40 in 2077/78, 52 in 2076/77 and 26 km in 2075/76.
In the period of 6 years, the Ministry has constructed 1,413 kilometers of gravel roads and opened 384 kilometers of tracks. As part of multi-year roads, 28 ward roads have been completed and 12 roads have been constructed in this financial year. During the last 6 years, 88 motorized bridges and 200 suspension bridges have been completed throughout the province.
While addressing the annual progress review program, Ganesh Upreti, Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development of the Koshi State Government, said that multi-year projects including roads and networks should be added and completed on time according to the budget.
In the financial year 2080/81, the ministry has completed the construction of 122 community and 27 government buildings, while 16 integrated settlement development and public housing programs have built 1,24 houses. According to the Ministry, the construction of 6 parks, one bus park, and two view towers have been completed.
