Three houses were damaged in a fire near Rambazar in Mahalakshmi Municipality-5 on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, the houses of locals Srichan Budhathoki, Surya Bahadur Shrestha and Devi Prasad Khadka were destroyed by the fire which started at 4 pm.
It is said that police and local residents have been deployed along with fire department of Dhankuta municipality to control the fire.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by an electrical short, said District Police Chief SP Shyamsingh Chaudhary. He said that more information about the incident is yet to come.
