37 women with cervical cancer

During the health examination of 986 women of Fidim Municipality of Panchthar, it was found that 37 of them had cervical cancer. This is 3.75 percent of the total number tested. Under the leadership of Fidim Municipality, cervical examination of so many women was conducted in Lungrupa, Nangin and Ranitar, including District Hospital Panchthar from 9th to 13th of May.
City Mayor Mitraprasad Kafle said that the test swabs from the HVP kit were sent to the lab of Biratnagar Provincial Hospital for testing. "37 out of 986 people showed signs of cancer in their uterus, they have been sent to Dharan and Biratnagar for further tests and treatment," said City Mayor Mitraprasad Kafle. The HVP kit was provided by the Family Welfare Department of the Health Services Department for the
camp. It is said that the management of the camp was done from the funds of Fidim municipality.
It is said that women who show symptoms of cancer will be treated under the supervision of a doctor after further tests.
