Onahang Nemwang, outgoing mayor of Fidim municipality and general committee member of Nepali Congress, passed away on Thursday morning. Family sources said that Nemwang died at the neuro hospital in Biratnagar during treatment.
Nemwang, who was born in Phidim 2 Mathlo village in the year 2004, was taken to Biratnagar for treatment three days ago after having problems related to diabetes and blood pressure.
Nemwang was elected mayor on behalf of the Nepali Congress in the local elections of 2074. Before that, he was the chairman of Fidim Nagar Development Committee from 2072 to 2074. Recently, Nemwang has had a kidney-related problem, according to a family source.
In his active life, Nemwang, who had been in Congress politics for a long time, played a special role in providing education, health and drinking water to the citizens of the district.
After that, he became the mayor in the local elections held in 2074. He is the first mayor of Fidim.
