Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) former MP Dhakakumar Shrestha has been arrested on charges of being involved in drug dealing.

According to the Kaski Police, 48-year-old Shrestha, director of Diya Pharmacy located in Pokhara Metropolitan City-9 Prithvichowk, was arrested on Thursday. 42-year-old Prakash Thapamar was arrested from Pokhara-2 bus park on July 3 last with 97 pills of the drug Trupen. During the investigation, Thapamagar said that he bought the drug from Diya Pharmacy. Kaski Police Chief Mohan Thapa said that pharmacy owner Shrestha was arrested after taking permission from the district court.

Shrestha, who became a proportional member of parliament from the RSVP, was expelled by the party after getting involved in financial transactions.

Thapamagar lived in Triveni Rural Municipality-7 of Rolpa and is currently living in Pokhara-4 Nalamukh.
