A young man has been on hunger strike for five days in Kathmandu's Shantibatika so that citizens of remote areas do not die due to lack of health facilities.

42-year-old Deepak Silwal of Tehrathum has been on hunger strike since Friday, demanding the government to arrange two air ambulances to provide emergency treatment facilities to the remote citizens.

'I am on hunger strike to draw the attention of the government to emergency rescue of pregnant mothers and sisters who are suffering from labor pains in difficult areas and those whose lives are in danger,' he said, 'I demand that the state should arrange at least two air ambulances for emergency rescue. '

Citizens in remote areas are losing their lives due to the fact that they are in a sensitive situation and are dying without getting healthcare services on time, so they are on hunger strike to prevent this situation from happening again. For this, the government has demanded an air ambulance for all citizens to have equal access, he said.
