I am afraid that I will be arrested or prosecuted for talking about authority: Congress MP KC

In the meeting, the ruling Congress MP said that even while discussing the bill, the Commissioner of Authority and other officials are afraid that they will charge or make them fill a form. Congress MP Rajendra KC has indicated that the commissioners and officers of the Authority are abusing their positions to seek political revenge and said that KC should be afraid to speak during the law making process.

KC said that instead of solving corruption, the authorities are reprimanding, intimidating and retaliating. He said that the work of entanglement for years by making accusations is being done by the authorities. "Akhtiyar's prosecution failed completely". The commissioners of the authority have to be afraid, whether they will get 14 or not! "There was a situation where we had to speak out in fear as to whether charges would be brought," MP KC said. While he was saying this, Home Minister Ramesh Sukhak was also present at the committee meeting, while officials of the Authority and the Nepalese government were also present.

Member of Parliament KC said that the qualification of those appointed to the authority has also been questioned. KC said that there should be a discussion on whether to create a law giving the responsibility of the chief commissioner and commissioner of the authority to the judges of the Supreme Court as there is a question about the authority in the public mind. 'Now there is a situation of doubting the authority itself,' he said, 'if there is an arrangement to bring the Supreme Court judge under the authority, will it be a little?', he said.

While Chief Commissioner Prem Rai of the Authority expressed his views in the committee that the private sector should be brought under its jurisdiction, MP KC clarified that the Authority should not be allowed to enter the private sector without prosecuting a case for 10 years. We have seen the work of Akhtiar, the case of Widebody has gone for 10 years. What kind of message is the authority giving by registering prosecution in such matters in 10-15 years?, KC asked.

Reminding that there is a regulatory body in the private sector, KC said that the authority could not even investigate people holding public positions. 'It seems that the authority will come to the private sector again . There are private sector regulatory bodies. It has been given to people who hold public positions, I am of the opinion that the private sector should not be given under the jurisdiction of the authority,' KC said .
