Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava had a courtesy call on Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi on Friday. In the meeting held at the Ministry on Friday, Minister Shahi said that he expected the help of the neighboring country India to reduce the risk of damage caused by climate change in Nepal in recent times, according to the Ministry.

Minister Shahi said that India's assistance is expected in the reduction of the environmental impact in the Dodhara Chandni region, as well as the construction of a school building in the backward Himalayan district of Mugu, the promotion of tourism in the Rara region and the development of the Mugu Dolfu Chayannath religious site.

Ambassador Srivastava said that there has already been a verbal agreement between the two countries regarding the establishment of a security post in Dodhara Chandni and informed that the environmental study of this work is being carried out, according to the Ministry of Forests and Environment.

Ambassador Srivastava recalled that with the help of India, programs such as physical infrastructure construction, capacity development training and other support programs are being conducted in Nepal and said that such programs will continue in the future.
