Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the investment environment should be improved to attract domestic and foreign private investment. Sushil Bhatta, the chief executive officer of the Investment Board, accepted the performance report submitted to the President of the Board and Prime Minister Oli on Thursday according to the performance agreement for the financial year 2080/81 and said that he should continue to improve the investment environment.
Chief Executive Officer Bhatt informed that the Prime Minister praised the work and achievements of the Investment Board saying that the concept of public-private partnership is important in infrastructure development.
'In order to attract domestic and foreign private investment, the improvement of the investment environment should be continued and institutional capacity will be developed to develop the board as a 'center of excellence' of public-private partnership,' said Prime Minister Oli.
During the presentation of the performance report, Chief Executive Officer Bhatt informed the Prime Minister about the progress made for project development, investment promotion and institutional strengthening, problems encountered during project implementation, efforts made by the board to solve them, learning and experience during the performance and the future scenario.
