The Nepali Embassy in Dhaka has asked Nepali students in Bangladesh not to go out except for essential work. On Wednesday, issuing a notice, the embassy asked the students not to go outside in view of the recent clashes and violent demonstrations in Bangladesh.

The Embassy's notification said, 'Due to the ongoing anti-quota protests in Bangladesh, the Ministry of Education of the Government of Bangladesh has decided that all public and private universities and educational institutions will remain closed until further notice. It is requested not to leave the place where you are staying and follow the instructions of your respective college administration.'

In Bangladesh, 6 people have died in the special anti-reservation movement brought by the government. The anti-reservation movement that was given to the children of people who participated in the freedom movement of Bangladesh in government jobs erupted violently.

Bangladesh was separated from Pakistan in 1971 after the freedom struggle of 'Mukti Bahini'. According to the Bangladeshi media The Daily Star, 3 students are among the dead. Violent clashes have taken place in different parts of the country between the students protesting the reservation and Bangladesh Chhatra League, a sister organization of the ruling Awami League.

The students' league is in favor of the government's plan, while the rest of the students are protesting saying that this reservation will only benefit special people. Similarly, there have been violent clashes between students and the police in some places. Bangladeshi media reported that hundreds of people were injured in the clashes. After the incident, the government has mobilized paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh in 6 districts. Also, all universities, campuses and schools are closed until further notice.

Sheikh Hasina, the leader of the Awami League, was elected as the Prime Minister for the fourth term after winning the general elections held last January. She is the daughter of Bangladeshi freedom fighter Sheikh Mujibar Rahman. Sheikh Hasina has won the parliamentary elections in Bangladesh for the fourth time in a row amid controversy and boycott of opposition parties. Bangladesh's main opposition party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), boycotted the election. The BNP had said that the elections conducted in a fraudulent manner would not be accepted. The Hasina-led government had arrested thousands of BNP activists before the elections.

Hasina first became the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in 1996. Then in 2009 she became the Prime Minister again. Since then, she has been in Bangladeshi power continuously. He has been accused of ruling in a dictatorial style.
