Education, Science and Technology Minister Sumana Shrestha has said that the Shramadahan Rojgar Mela will act as a career council.

During the launch of the 'Shramadhan Rozgar Mela' organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security at Patan Multipurpose Campus in Lalitpur, Bagmati Province on Tuesday, she said that this is just the beginning and that the fair will inform about the easy process for those who want to become entrepreneurs. She said that what kind of education and skills are required for a job will also be discussed.

Minister Shrestha said that vocational trainings can be conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Education and Labor. She said, "This kind of fair is very necessary. Our ministry is also starting with career council from this year. In the coordination of inter ministries, we can create jobs within the country and inspire the youth to become self-employed. We are also holding discussions for cooperation. Laxman Lamsal, Minister of Labour, Employment and Transport of Wagmati Province, said in the

program that the employment fair will also explain the importance of skills and work. Saying that the success of the fair will not be seen immediately, he expressed his belief that it will show positive results in the long term. In the

event, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan said that when around 1,500 people are going to work abroad every day, this kind of fair, even if it is small, will help to keep the Nepali youth in Nepal. He said, "We should bring employment generation projects in a certain way to stop our Nepalese brothers and sisters. It will not work by making empty speeches and writing only in the red book at the union, state and local levels.'

The employment fair which started from Biratnagar in Koshi province on 17th June has started today in Lalitpur of Wagmati. The fair will be conducted till tomorrow. There are 80 private and government sector stalls in the fair.
