The government has asked Nepali citizens in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek and surrounding areas to stay indoors. The government made such a request regarding the violent attack that took place there last Friday.

According to the Nepalese embassy in Pakistan, all the Nepalis there are safe. The embassy issued a notice on Saturday and said, "Regarding the incidents that happened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in the last few days, about 280 Nepalis, especially in Bishkek and the surrounding area, are currently safe and requested not to leave their residences/homes until the situation returns to normal."

The embassy has also requested to be in direct contact with the local Nepalis in that country or the embassy in Islamabad in case of any kind of problem. In addition, the embassy said that if any information, advice or assistance is needed, the embassy phone number +92512610321 (including WhatsApp) and e-mail [email protected] can be contacted.

The embassy made this request after an attack on a dormitory where students from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries studying medicine were attacked.

According to international media, the situation in Bishkek is currently normal . The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the situation in Bishkek is under control and requested all concerned not to spread false news through social media. It is reported that 15 students were injured in the attack on the dormitory and they were treated.
