The two-day Nepal Youth Summit was concluded in Kathmandu with the demand that the government should bring a special policy and incentive program for youth entrepreneurship, employment and youth empowerment.

The summit held on August 28th and 29th under the organization of Nation Building Forum Nepal said that an environment should be created for youth to be employed based on their knowledge, skills and abilities in the country. It has been demanded that self-employment and entrepreneurship should be encouraged, the consumption of indigenous products should be prioritized and time-related policies, rules, plans and budget arrangements should be made for this.

The program coordinator Bhupendrajung Shahi said that the summit demands that the youth have access to political, social and economic leadership and that they should participate proportionately and meaningfully at all levels of the state and implement a program to develop their capabilities.

According to him, skills and market-oriented education at the summit, Access to digital education, encouraging innovation and ensuring youth access to technology, the government has been requested to come up with a program to encourage digital literacy and startups.

Likewise, the youth have committed to end all forms of discrimination, violence, and injustice by promoting social justice, gender equality, human rights of minorities, backward and marginalized communities, while ensuring the active role of youth for environmental protection and sustainable development, green energy , climate change, and demanded emphasis on the promotion of environmental justice . Addressing the

summit, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said that the government is taking initiatives to create opportunities and self-employment for the youth within the country. He said that the youth is the main basis of the country's economic prosperity and that it will be possible only through the use and systematic mobilization of the youth. Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Minister of State for Forest and Environment Rupa Vishwakarma, industrialist and MP Vinod Chaudhary, MPs Sovita Gautam and Maina Karki, former MP Navina Lama, Rita Shahi and others addressed the

program. At the

summit, famous entrepreneur Vidushi Rana, famous athlete Palesha Govardhan, successful businessman Bharat Dhakal, bankers Manoj Gyawali, Vice President of National Youth Council Surendra Basnet, Senior Journalist Dilbhushan Pathak, Central President of Nepal Physicians Association Dr Anil Karki, President of Nepal Teachers Federation Lakshmi Kishore Subedi, actor Sanam Kathayat, actress Usha Rajak, singer Radhika Hamal and other experts from various fields, young entrepreneurs, youth leaders, filmmakers, Authors, writers, social activists, public representatives, etc., gave educational presentations encouraging the youth to self-employment. About 500 youth from across the country participated in the

summit.
