Kathmandu Metropolitan City has fined Shreekesh oil producing company Saptarishi Oil and Cosmetic Industry 2 lakh rupees.

Inspection officer Awadhesh Jha said that the quality was not confirmed in the technical analysis report prepared based on the details requested from the producer company.

After receiving complaints about the quality of oil, the Metropolitan Municipality demanded details from the company on June 7. According to Jha, the metropolis has prepared a report based on the information received and fined accordingly.

It has been pointed out that the report of the metropolis has not received the document mentioning the method of technical combination of raw materials used in oil (formulation, recipe method) in the requested details and the record of Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) has not been found in the factory . The IOS certificate obtained in the name of the industry is used in the produced oil which should not be done as pointed out in the report . In the laboratory report provided by the

industry to the metropolis, it has been said that the number of micro-organisms (micro biological load, total plate count) is gradually increasing. The metropolis has informed that the test report provided by the 'minoxidil' industry, which is self-proclaimed by the producer of hair growth chemical ingredients, is not in the test report. According to the metropolis, the company has not provided any analysis report that confirms the technical and scientific evidence that the mixture of substances does not affect human health.

For the subsequent process, the Metropolitan Municipality has decided to send it to the Department of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine, Department of Drug Administration, Department of Commercial Supply and Consumer Protection under the Federal Ministry of Health and Population.
