Police investigations have revealed that young people involved in the entertainment industry are subjected to sexual exploitation, forced labor and violence. The Human Trafficking and Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police has arrested 19 people involved in prostitution in the entertainment sector so far this fiscal year.

According to the bureau, eight men and 11 women were arrested for prostitution in dance bars, restaurants and guesthouses operating in various places in Kathmandu.

The police of the bureau arrested them from areas including Ratepul, Gongbu, Thamel, Gaushala, Lalitpur, Chabhil, Jadibuti, Shivchok, Tarakeshwar, Jorpati, Deepjyoti, Machhapokhari, Mitrapark and Narayantar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar informed. It was informed that eight men and 11 women were arrested for prostitution in the entertainment sector in a program organized by the

bureau and coordinated by Anahat Nepal, an organization active in the field of women's empowerment and violence reduction. According to the statistics of

bureau, 59 victims including 15 men and 44 women have been seen in internal trafficking and prostitution cases. In the last three years, 521 people involved in human trafficking have been arrested, according to the bureau. Deputy Superintendent of Police of

Bureau, Godar, said that during the investigation, it was found that the people were subjected to various exploitations mainly when they were lured from the village by the lure of big dreams and brought to the entertainment sector and engaged in prostitution and other activities.

The Human Trafficking and Trafficking (Control) Act, 2064 considers the act of selling or buying a human being for any purpose, engaging in prostitution with or without taking any kind of advantage, removing human body parts and engaging in prostitution except in accordance with prevailing laws, as human trafficking.

The Act prohibits trafficking and trafficking outside the country, as well as from one place to another within the country, for the purpose of prostitution or exploitation, in any way, by luring, enticing, luring, forgery, collusion, under the guise of fear, terror, intimidation, and intimidation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Godar says that it is an organized crime.

Among the three biggest organized crimes in the world, human trafficking is one of the main crimes. It is estimated by the police that human trafficking in Nepali society is currently being conducted in a hidden manner.

Anahat Nepal program manager Sanjay Dhakal said that because there is not much discussion about the internal dimensions of human trafficking, girls are brought to commercial centers under various temptations and forced into prostitution. He said that the girls involved in internal trafficking are mainly in the age group of 13 to 17 years.
