The task force formed to make suggestions for improving the services of federal hospitals and health service providers has submitted its report. Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel announced to improve the quality by increasing the morale of health workers through performance based incentive system.

In order to advance the practical implementation of the same announcement, the ministry formed a 'Suggestion Task Force for necessary improvements to provide quality healthcare services with high morale by motivating healthcare workers to make the services of healthcare providers simple, easy and effective'.

A five-member working group chaired by Professor Dr. Lochan Karki submitted a recommendation report to Minister Paudel on Thursday. According to the ministry, a report has been received with the need to implement the incentive system, the basis for implementation, the reasons and potential returns, and the methods and criteria for implementation. After accepting the

report, Minister Poudel announced that the report will be implemented after the study. Minister Paudel has written on social media, 'Creative suggestions have been received to advance our plan to implement a performance-based incentive system to provide motivation to the health workforce working in hospitals. We express our commitment to implement the suggestions received by doing more homework and do our best to provide easy healthcare services to the common citizens.' The ministry said that the report has been received including the need to implement the incentive system, the basis on which it can be implemented, the reason why it should be implemented, the rewards if it is implemented and the necessary methods and criteria for implementation.

Currently, when the pressure of service is increasing due to lack of manpower in hospitals, Minister Poudel has set the goal of providing additional facilities to the health workers as an incentive to operate the service in two shifts as well as expand the service.
